I know you might feel overwhelmed when it comes to reaching your health and fitness goals. Most of them require consistency over longer periods of time to get there. It's easy to feel discouraged before you even start. I am a fan of big goals, but I’m an even bigger fan of breaking them down into smaller, more achievable ones. This approach is so much more motivating. Small wins along the way add up to big ones over time! Small wins keep you motivated. When you’re motivated, you’ll stick with the process. And THAT is what helps you to be consistent. Before you know it, you’ve accomplished your big goals. THAT is why we’re doing the FIT Together challenge. Change IS possible, you CAN do it and we’re going to do it TOGETHER!
what is the fit together fall 2020 challenge?
It’s short (four weeks!), it’s challenging, and it’s a way to jumpstart you toward reaching those big goals… while also seeing significant changes!
This is a comprehensive, 4 week workout challenge designed to help you build muscle and burn fat through strength training and strategic bursts of high intensity interval training (HIIT). You get access to a custom macro calculator and a comprehensive guide to tracking macros, which are only available for purchase leading up to the challenge. The challenge includes a daily scripture reading plan, which we will do together. If you are struggling with insecurity and self-worth, this program is for you. Insecurity stems from having a low view of yourself. But God has a high view of you. He values you!! In order for you to value yourself, you have to see that. Through a daily reading plan of scripture, along with weekly homework questions, you’ll start to see yourself the way that Jesus does. Insecurities will start to fade.
what to expect:
Workouts:
You’ll have access to four weeks of workouts that are yours for one year. These are slightly higher in level of intensity than the FIT X Heidi workouts. They’re rooted in strength training, because we want to build lean muscle. Muscle is more compact than fat, and that is what produces compositional changes in your body. We’re combining that with small amounts of cardio (optional), strategic bursts of HIIT (minimal) and body-weight/banded exercises. You’re getting a well-rounded mix of lifting weights and spiking your heart rate and bringing your muscles to fatigue in each workout. This is an effective combination designed to build muscle and burn fat.
Macros:
During this challenge, you’ll have access to a custom macro calculator and a guide to tracking macros. Macros remove the guesswork from your nutritional needs. You’re tracking how much protein, carbs and fats that you’re consuming in a day. This, combined with the workouts, gives you a complete plan, so you can simply apply it! Tracking macros is optional, but effective. Think of tracking as an educational tool. Once you try it for a period of time, it starts to become intuitive. My goal is to get you to that place. I don’t expect you to track macros for the rest of your life- I do not track apart from these challenges. It simply helps to inform you of what your body needs nutritionally. Then, over time, you’re able to apply it naturally without opening up an app to log your food.
Devotionals/Daily Scripture Reading Plan:
You’ll have access to a daily scripture reading plan. This will help you to get into the word every day, and it will point you to scriptures that remind you of who God is and how He sees you. There will be weekly homework questions to help you process the scripture you’re reading. These are designed to be done independently first and then discussed with a small group. Grab a few friends to do this program and form your own small group! Or, you can connect with other members in the private Facebook group and form one virtually. Real change happens in community.
Community:
The FIT Together challenge is intended to help you build community. When you know that there are other people pushing themselves WITH you for four weeks, it’s motivating. Doing this in isolation is hard. Lean on this community! God doesn’t call us to go through life alone. We are meant to be in community. I strongly encourage you to do this with a few friends OR connect with other girls in the group. Have a weekly small group where you go through the weekly homework questions that accompany the daily scripture reading plan. Grab a few friends, a sister or a family member and have them sign up with you! You’ll be able to connect with new, like-minded people in the private Facebook group.

what you’ll need:
If you are working out in a gym, most of the equipment you need will be available to you. If not, here’s your at-home equipment recommendations:
Variety of dumbbells (I recommend having at least two sets— one heavier, one lighter— to start.)
Exercise bands and/or hip circle bands
Kettlebell (optional; one single dumbbell can be use as a substitute)
Medicine ball (optional, but recommended)
Step (optional; you can use an elevated, sturdy surface at home like your stairs)

There’s no such thing as a quick fix, and I don’t believe anything out there that tells you otherwise. That’s not what this is!
